UPCOMING sensation Sirkka Kashidinge, popularly known as SVida, is gearing up for her first international gig when she performs at the Kgosi ya Mosadi event in Botswana on Saturday.

The excited singer says she was approached after performing at the CD launch of her debut album, ‘I Talk, You Sing’ at Ongwediva recently.

Being the only Namibian artist set to perform at the event is an honour and dream come true, SVida says.

She is set to share the stage with the headliner of the event, acclaimed Congolese singer Koffi Olomidé, who recently performed in Namibia.

“I have loved ‘Dobilo’ music ever since I was a child, and performing along Olomidé will be a dream come true,” she says.

She will be performing songs from her nine-track album.

SVida was born in Windhoek and is currently based at Omuthiya. She joined the music industry after being inspired by her cousin Samuel Shines when he performed at her father’s funeral last December.

“My music journey has been full of excitement, continuous learning, and mockery, as well as love and support from family and fans. It’s a journey full of sweet memories,” she says of music, which has kept her on her toes and she loves every moment of it.
