CROWDS gathered at Otjimbingwe in the Erongo region on Saturday as the Vipuira Kapuuo faction of the Ovaherero Traditional Authority (OTA) readied to elect a new paramount chief.
The contenders for this position are Popular Democratic Movement leader McHenry Venaani, Rally for Democracy and Progress leader Mike Kavekotora, and academic Hoze Riruako.
A chief council, comprising 480 members, is expected to deliberate and elect the new leader of the Ovaherero people under the stewardship of the OTA.
