ALL is set for the second edition of the Kalawafresh annual festival as organisers say the four-day event will be packed with lots of extras, including entertainment, exhibition and an educative session, and promises a fun-filled event for the festive season.
The show is scheduled to take place at the Okambonde Paaltjies at Oniipa in the Oshikoto region from 22 to 25 December.
In the build up to the festival, mini activities of the festival have been taking place countrywide, starting from Windhoek, Walvis Bay Rundu to Ongwediva.
“Last year’s edition was the first, and as new as it was, local business persons and members of the community were satisfied with the way the event unfolded,” says Elifas Amakali, the founder, adding that many event-goers embraced and appreciated the business opportunity brought to them.
He says this year’s edition will come with a lot of extras and improvements.
“With experience from the previous edition and good observation and advice we received from those who attended, we have worked hard to improve on it,” says Amakali.
This time around, they have also invited different upcoming local artists to keep the show alive and give them a platform to exhibit their talents.
“We also want to allow upcoming local business persons to learn how to market their products and share their knowledge in the business industry.”
To make it more exciting, there will be local brands for sale, to boost local products.
According to Amakali, the number of exhibitors per product category for this year will be limited to allow maximum sales.
“The festival is expecting attendance in big numbers compared to last year because many people have heard how good the event was, knowing this year’s edition will be far better in terms of organisation, business, and entertainment.”
