Flood closes two schools in Ohangwena

THE flash floods that arrived in Namibia from southern Angola last week have caused two schools in the Ohangwena region to close.

The two schools are Onghala Combined School and Shingunguma Primary School in the Engela constituency.

This was said by the Ohangwena education director Isak Hamatwi on Tuesday.

“These schools are closed until further notice. Others will continue with classes as usual,” Hamatwi said.

Onghala Combined School have been negatively affected by flood waters, as pupils have to cross deep water to access the school.

Floodwater is currently flowing in the main Cuvelai stream, Oshana sha Nalumono, heading to the Endola area.
