Connie Ferguson Heads to Namibia

Fans of Connie Ferguson will have the platform to rub shoulders with the award-winning actress, executive producer, motivational speaker, women’s advocate and businesswoman.

Ferguson will be in the country as the main guest at the first Mothers and Business (M&B) networking gala event, held in partnership with Mindscape Events Namibia and FNB Namibia.

The event will be held on Saturday (3 September) at the Windhoek Country Club Resort from 17h00, with the dress code being elegant pyjamas/loungewear.

The gala dinner’s theme is ‘Imperfect Progress’ and aims to empower the public by delivering a uniquely fun and impactful experience infused with connectivity, inspiration, learning, resources and more.

The organisers will provide business tools and knowledge for women entrepreneurs, leaders and executives.

M&B founder Tjuna Kauapirura says the event will bring together high-profile panellists making a significant contribution within the businesses arena and their communities.

She says the event was created with the belief that every entrepreneurial journey starts with a dream to create something new and better.

Kauapirura says Ferguson is the best inspirational figure to host at the event.

“She is a leader and pioneer in communities across the country. Well known in South African homes, being part of South Africa’s favourite family and with more than 20 years of entertainment to her name, it’s clear that she will entrench her legacy wherever she steps. Whether it’s your 80-year-old grandfather or nine-year-old niece, chances are that they know Connie. She is respected in many industries,” Kauapirura says.

“What’s good Namibia? It has been a long time and I am so glad to be joining you guys at the networking gala dinner. I cannot wait to meet the old and new faces. See you there,” Ferguson recently posted on her Instagram account.

Kauapirura says attendees can look forward to panellists sharing their expertise on key topics in selected fields.

“With an interactive panel discussion and a masterclass, this inspirational content can help women overcome challenges, focus on their careers and reach their full potential.

“This platform creates an opportunity for women to be inspired by both international and local role models, to engage with like-minded businesswomen and to connect with other business owners and professionals to help grow their business and career.”

Kauapirura says during the panel discussion they will look at opportunities, challenges and possible investment options in key sectors, with discussions facilitated by three different moderators, each bringing light to current statistics and backgrounds while leading the conversation in a fruitful manner.

“We know that female independence not only contributes to capital growth and lower poverty rates but also contributes greatly to lowering the factors surrounding a world-wide pandemic: gender-based violence against women. It is thus important to nurture women and build their capacity to enable self-reliance and independence,” she says.

All sponsors will also have the chance to celebrate and motivate their employees by allocating an hour with Ferguson for a meet-and-greet session.
