MODEL, fashion designer and beauty pageant titleholder Chanique Rabe got engaged to her longtime boyfriend over the weekend.
Rabe, who was crowned Miss Supranational 2021, spoke the The Namibian about her engagement on Sunday at Habitas Namibia.
“I came home to Windhoek for work at Windhoek Fashion Week. On Sunday, my family and I went for a drive to the beautiful lodge for lunch. Little did I know Kyle Honeyborne was waiting on this beautiful deck surrounded with a stunning view and beautiful flowers, waiting to go down on one knee.
“He said ‘I can’t imagine my life without you’,” Rabe recalls.
The couple met at Swakopmund six years ago, during the December holidays, she says.
“He lived in Pretoria at the time, so I did not think I would see him again. A year later, we ran into each in Cape Town, as we both coincidentally moved there. We became friends and soon fell in love. We have been together for four happy years now. He was extremely supportive of my Miss Supranational journey,” she says.
Rabe says she is grateful and ready for this next adventurous journey.
The most special part of her engagement is the fact that she got engaged in her home country, she says.
“Although we spoke about it and I was very ready, I truly still did not expect this wonderful romantic proposal. Kyle really went out of his way to make this the most special and best day of my life,” Rabe says.
